Project Objectives:

The ADVANCE project aims to enhance social innovation and entrepreneurship in Uganda and Tanzania by developing and implementing a new competence-based post-graduate programme in partner universities in Uganda and Tanzania, in cooperation with local stakeholders and based on the methodologies of service-learning and experiential learning.

The specific objectives include:

• Develop a competence profile of a social entrepreneur
• Develop a new post-graduate curriculum (30 ECTS), learning content and mentorship schemes in social innovation and entrepreneurship
• Develop and implement in the Ugandan and Tanzanian partner universities a quality management system for the new programme
• Build capacity of academic staff at the partner universities in Uganda and Tanzania to deliver the new post-graduate programme 
• Create physical and virtual environment conducive to the implementation of the new programme and pilot the programme in Ugandan and Tanzanian partner universities
• Provide access to high quality open educational resources in the field of social innovation and entrepreneurship to local stakeholders in the partner countries
