Methodology

The ADVANCE project design is built on the curriculum development methodology that consists of four iterative phases:

  • Planning
    1. Needs analysis through stakeholder surveys and consultation meetings
    2. Formation of curriculum development teams
    3. Distribution of roles and responsibilities
  • Design and development
    1. Defining learning outcomes
    2. Creating a curriculum structure
    3. Selecting content
    4. Designing learning activities and assessment strategies
    5. Producing teaching-learning materials
    6. Validation of the curriculum through consultation meetings with internal and external stakeholders, followed by improvement, internal approval and accreditation.
  • Implementation
    1. Training of instructors
    2. Creating appropriate learning environment
    3. Admission of students
    4. Actual delivery of the programme
    5. Assessment of learning outcomes and award of diplomas
  • Evaluation and quality assurance
    1. On-going monitoring and periodic review of the programme
    2. Assessment of the extent to which the programme achieves its objectives and impact

ADVANCE Programme

Postgraduate Diploma in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship: fully accredited one-year experiential study programme, delivered by four universities in cooperation with civil society organizations and business development stakeholders in Uganda and Tanzania.
