To validate the ADVANCE curriculum, all four partner universities in Uganda and Tanzania conducted stakeholder workshops involving both external participants (social entrepreneurs, grassroots innovators, and representatives from business development organisations) and internal participants, such as curriculum committee members, faculty, trainers, and researchers. These workshops provided an opportunity to gather feedback, align the curriculum with local needs, and secure early stakeholder buy-in. Following the workshops, the curriculum was refined and submitted to each HEI’s curriculum committee for review and approval.
Curriculum Validation Workshops in Tanzania
On 19 December 2025, a curriculum validation workshop was held at the Maekani Training Facility, Mzumbe University, Tanzania, with 29 participants representing higher education institutions, vocational education centers, business development organisations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The workshop reviewed and validated the proposed Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship curriculum, focusing on its relevance, coherence, alignment with Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) guidelines, and responsiveness to societal, technological, and industry needs, including ICT, Artificial Intelligence, and climate change.

On 2 February 2026, Mkwawa University College of Education, in collaboration with SIDO, held a curriculum validation workshop at the SIDO office in Iringa. The interactive session brought together 19 participants among whom students, faculty and administrators, community partners, bank employees, NGOs, and policymakers to provide diverse perspectives on the draft Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship curriculum. The workshop was carefully structured to foster inclusive dialogue, gather practical insights, and identify actionable next steps, helping ensure the curriculum is relevant, implementable, and responsive to evolving societal, technological, and industry needs.
