Transnational training in Uganda

On April 22–24, 2026, the ADVANCE project team gathered at Busitema University in Tororo, Uganda, for the second transnational training workshop dedicated to strengthening the implementation of the ADVANCE postgraduate programme in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The training aimed to:

• Build the capacity of faculty members and trainers who will be involved in delivering the ADVANCE programme
• Strengthen participants’ understanding of the programme’s methodology, content, and quality assurance framework
• Support a common approach to programme implementation across all partner institutions

The workshop focused on key aspects of the ADVANCE programme, including:

• Exploring the methodology and pedagogical approaches underpinning the new postgraduate programme in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• Reviewing the programme content and learning outcomes to ensure a shared understanding among partner institutions
• Discussing the quality management and quality assurance system developed to support effective programme delivery
• Sharing experiences and good practices in experiential learning, service-learning, and competence-based education
• Engaging with guest speakers and experts through discussion panels on social innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems
• Learning from practice through visits to social enterprises and community-based organizations in Uganda

The workshop combined hands-on training sessions, interactive discussions, expert contributions, and field visits, creating valuable opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge, learn from practice, and strengthen collaboration across the ADVANCE partnership.

Beyond the training activities, the event provided an inspiring platform for partners from Uganda, Tanzania, Bulgaria, Italy, and Lithuania to further develop their shared vision for advancing social innovation and entrepreneurship education in East Africa.

This training represented another important milestone in the ADVANCE project, bringing us one step closer to the successful launch and implementation of the ADVANCE postgraduate programme. We look forward to continuing this journey together!
